All About Apples

Join us for an apple extravaganza! Participants can try different varieties of New York State apples, and vote for their favorite. We’ll read an apple themed book, make an apple themed craft, and play in Kids Club.

Staying Home Alone Course

Ages 8-14
Come learn the basics of staying home alone with us! This course will include parent expectations, basic safety, and light refreshments. Participants will receive a take-home folder and certificate of completion.

Pumpkin Bobbing

A fall activity that’s become an annual tradition at the Y— Pick your own pumpkin in the pool! Jump into the pool and find the perfect pumpkin to take home. Bring a towel and your swimsuit. Children will go home with a goodie bag.

Babysitting Course
Monday, October 14th

Ages 11-17
An instructional course on the basics of babysitting to include age characteristics, emergency procedures, role-playing situations, parent expectations, and much more to assist in preparation for babysitting. Participants will receive a take-home folder and certificate of completion. This course DOES NOT include CPR or First Aid.

Halloween At The Y

Join us for an Out Of This World Halloween celebration! Our annual family-friendly event is free and open to the community. Come dressed in your Halloween costumes for a night of fun! Activities will include a DJ, snacks, crafts, and a hayride to enjoy. No registration is required.

Thanksgiving With The Peanuts Crew

It’s that time of year where we all want to watch our favorite Peanuts characters: Snoopy, Woodstock, Lucy, Pigpen, Linus, Sally, and don’t forget Charlie Brown! Come to the Y to watch the gang with us. We’ll show A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, and have a feast just like theirs— buttered toast, popcorn, pretzels, and jellybeans! We’ll also make a placemat to take home for your own family gathering.

The Imagination Club Art Class

Our homeschool art program returns in the fall! The Imagination Club is a place for exploring art materials, developing skills, and learning about techniques. This program is facilitated by retired NYS Art teacher Melissa DeStevens Valenzuela, and her daughter, Maria. Classes are held on Tuesday afternoons through June, with monthly themes.
